About me

Shauna Reid

Ahoy there!

I’m Shauna Reid, an Australian writer who moved to Scotland ten years ago in pursuit of adventure and kilts.

I’m the author of a book called The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl and co-creator of Up & Running, where we help women discover their inner athlete with our kickass running e-courses.

I’m into mangoes, Radiohead, Yorkshire tea, Scandinavian television dramas, Malteaster bunnies, Test Match Special and men’s tennis.

I like to save the best things for last so I always eat lasagna upside down, so to finish with the cheesy bit. I’d eat ice cream cones upside down if it wasn’t so messy.

I started this blog in May 2000 to combat boredom in the workplace. It was called What’s New, Pussycat not only as homage to the Tom Jones song, but to lure in unsuspecting Googlers searching for “pussy”.

  • I’m co-creator of Up & Running, running e-courses for women with expert coaching & kickass community – it’s like your very own international running club. My friend Julia Jones is the coach, by the way. I’m the Community Director, a.k.a. chief cheerleader!

  • For twelve years I blogged about my formerly secret double-life as a fat-fighting superhero at The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl, and wrote a book with the same name, published by HarperCollins.“A buoyant, funny and immensely likable romp – for readers of all sizes”, said People magazine in their four star review! Find out more here.
