You Give Lard A Bad Name

According to some new statistics, Scotland is now the second fattest nation in the world behind the USA.

All I can say to our friends across the pond is… watch out. We have the deep-fried pizzas and Mars Bars and we're not afraid to use them. The coveted Number One spot shall be ours some day.

In other news, after six weeks of swearing and tinkering I've managed to convert this stinking blog to the MT4 templates. And for all that effort all I give you is… exactly the same bloody template you've been staring at since 2002. At least now there's no tables!

There are bugs here and there that I need to iron out but THE COMMENTS ARE WORKING NOW hurrah hurrah hurrah. Proper entry soon but for now I'm away to my bed.

  1. well best I make a comment then.

I can’t wait for a deep fried mars bar.
Actually, I’m a bit worried aboot the hair thang, and all those straighteners lying about.
Do you think I’ll be attacked in public toilets by random strangers unable to deal with the seaweed? they might think they’re doing me a favour?

what categories? down the side? i look at them all the time but I’m well aware of the horrors of site meter now and I’m sure you know that!! ha ha.

  2. Really, second fatest to the USA? I actually thought Australia would be. I don’t really know why. Probably because we are so “wealthy” here in regards to other countries in what we can afford to cram in our mouths on a daily basis.

  3. I saw a deep fried Cadbury’s Creme Egg once. It still haunts my nightmares. Maybe I should move out of Scotland?

  4. I’ve never used categories, here or anywhere else.

Congrats to Scotland on the fat thing. A stunning achievement in a country with no Mint Slices.

  5. ahh foi foi, you’re going to have a great time. maybe wear a hat to prevent attacks ๐Ÿ˜›

lynda – ooh i saw those at st andrews earlier this year. they’re already so gooey in the middle, so they must be pretty freaky after frying…

  6. Congratulations Shauna – I’m sure that HR at the bottom of each post is new, isn’t it?

“Free HR with each post – get yours now!”

Doesn’t sound like MT4 is particularly user friendly.

  7. you just have to look at a typical scottish breakie, lorn sausage, haggis, black and white pudding, those little pieces of flat bread fried, not to mention the bacon, normal sausages..
    then there’s the alcohol…
though not to forget the many things the scot’s like to deepfry…

but it’s such a small country, in comparison to the usa, i’m surprised it wasn’t top of hte chart.

  8. I know – with all this CSS stuff the old school stuff is easy to forget. I remember when tables were new! Bring back BLINK! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Shauna dear, you might have deep-fried Snickers bars, but here in the States, we have deep-friend lard. Truly amazing that Americans still haven’t cured cancer, when we’ve been so busy coming up with new ways to fatten ourselves up, eh?

  10. Embarrassing. Deep-fried lard, that is. I don’t even want to think about what I said at first. My slips are getting more Freudian these days.

  11. deep fried pizzas! what a pimp idea.

btw i will buy ur book, as it almost makes me wish i was fat so i’d have soemthing to write books about. which i think is a super cool thing for a book to do.

  12. Hey Shauna,

I feel so proud to say this… I live in THE fattest state in America – Mississippi! So, beat THAT contest! I try to do my part in contributing to the demise of the species. Anything to help. Ha.
